On the will for James James (died 31 July 1875) his occupation is recorded as plasterer  :)

Philip John James, executor is recorded as gentleman of 29 Alice Street, Cardiff.

There is a legal notice in the South Wales Daily News 16 October 1876 regarding James James (gentleman) late of Rowlands Buidings, Cardiff. Philip John James is the executor of the will.

Perhaps this is the Philip John James who married in 1876.

JJ

Wondering if he was the James James who was buried 4th August 1875 Cardiff St John aged 63 address North Street as their is a James James 60 occ Freeholder with wife Jane with a Mary Rowland 57 in 1871 census at that address?

In 1851 Jane James is living with her mother at North Street but no James.

In 1841 Jane is with her mother with surname Rowland.

Jane Rowland marriage -
q2 1845, Cardiff
Vol 26 Page 679
On the same page is James James.

Perhaps James James' first wife died who was the mother of Philip John James. James went on to marry Jane but Philip then went to live with his grandparents. Just a thought  :)  :)
