My question is when was he born and who were the sons?

He was advertising on the bottom or col. 5

Why not look him up on the 1911 census to get that info?  Use that info to trace back through the censuses

My subs have lapsed.

I thought that transmitting info from the 1911 census was against forum rules,  but, that would not prevent some helpful person finding the subject and passing on enough info for me to check it out with BMD ets.
The thing is that I have a few coincidences
Grandfather was. Mechanic living in Maidenhead before WW1. In the post war years he was a bit of a gangster-like figure, or at least dressed like one and had Chauffeur-driven American limos. He left quite a sum of money, I think some of it was to a Parker. If that is so, I wonder why.

Edit. I am not so much interested in learning about before 1911 as from 1911 to 1956.

We can post what is in 1911 index and link as here

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X7VL-6BC

This Charles Henry Parker’s occupation would fit with the advert.

Not if you have looked it up yourself.  It is not allowed for a member to look it up for you or you to post a specific request for a 1911 lookup

Family Search has all censuses to 1911 - some fully indexed
