Hello,

I am trying  to find any information about a Teacher called Brian C Radcliffe.  He taught at Crosslee School Manchester  around 1945.   It was rumoured he went to be Head of a Private School in Malvern. Worcestershire.

Any information would be very appreciated .

Hi,

I imagine it would be about 1915--1920`s.  I haven`t been able to find a Birth Marriage or death that fits .  There is a Ratcliffe Bryan C  but my friend has a book which was given to him as a present signed Brian C Radcliffe.

Could the C be an L?

Births Dec 1925
Radcliffe    Brian L       mmn Clay
Hunslet    9b   702

Although that would make him a bit young to be teaching in 1945.

I think he would be a bit too young as my friend remembers he was in WW2.  Looked on the Forces site but no trace.

WW2 records are still with the MOD and not available online.

Have you tried checking local papers

I saw that one Carol, but I can't find a birth for him in 1917. It's also strange, as if he was born 1917, he'd be 22 in 1939, so why would he be "at school" I wonder? Why not University student or teacher if it is him?

The above Brian could be born 1927, perhaps a mistranscription? FreeBMD has 2 Brian Radcliffe born in 1927.
