Here is Vincent in 1940.  Near the bottom of the same page, there is a Catherine Phillips, aged 53? or 63?, born in Ireland.  It might be worth trying to track her to see if she is Vincent's aunt.

England: Lancashire - O'Malley, McCauley, Foster.

There is a niece? and a brother? surnamed McTire?  Do you recognize that surname?

That's amazing. You've both given me a cornucopia of leads to follow-up on. I go for months of getting nowhere then all this great stuff showers down on me. Can't wait to get on it but have to wait until this evening!!! YAY
