I can't find things there either!
I have transcribed some registers for them though. You can volunteer to transcribe. Maybe one day it will be free to search as they'll all be on there 😉

There's another Canterbury will
James Bingham, Farmer of Hatfield Broad Oak, Essex
proved 7 February 1816

The Bank of England Wills Extracts can provide a summary of names
eldest son James
daughters Ann, Mary, Susanna(h)
son John Bingham and his seven children John, William, James, Ann, Thomas, Zachariah and Mary

A very quick look at the will, I can see James' mentions his daughter Martha Gentry.
Will dated 29 June 1815, so John had a daughter Mary by then.
Zachariah could tie in with Mary Nicholl (her father's name?)

Another James Bingham will in 1831.
Is nannyj able to look at Hatfield Broad Oak baptisms, say 1770s, for John and siblings?
John

So, just to check, are we saying that James (will of 1816) is the grandfather, James and John are his sons, and James the son has three daughters and John the son had seven children?
Am assuming the 1831 will is James junior’s?

Hi
I'm afraid don't know anything about James junior. Must be him in 1831, I would agree. The daughters mentioned, Ann, Mary, Susannah, and Martha(?) would be his siblings, and the father of all of them (including John with seven children) would be James of the 1816 will. But I don't know the name of the wife of James senior.

Just looked at the 1797 will on SEAX.

It’s of James Bingham the elder farmer on HBO. Wife is Rebecca.
Their children (and theirs in brackets) are:

James (John, Ann, Elizabeth, Mary, susannah, Martha.
Elizabeth (married a patmer, children: Thomas and Martha).
Martha (married a Hammond, children:John and Ann).
Mary (married a Sullins, children: Peter, Rebecca, Mary).

There’s also a grandson mentioned: James Bingham. As there’s only one s9n and three daughters, I’m assuming he’s james’ son.

It’s not helping that their names re all the same!

Got to go out. Will have a look later.

Looking at the Parish registers, the will of 1816 is of James born 1746, as he was 70 at burial January 1816.
The James whose will is 1797 was born 1713.

The 1831 will is of James Bingham of Skringles farm, aged 56, cause of death ‘decline!’ so born 1775. My guess would be he’s the grandson of James whose will is 1797.

Really must go. Will check the children out later.
