Alexander Reid Aberdeen

Looking for any info of a Alexander Reid and Rebecca Smith married 1831 in St Nicholas Aberdeen

I found them buried with ancestors in Nellfield cemetry, but cannot find a connection except that my ancestor gave three of his children "Reid"as a middlle name.  My ancestor was William Bain born 1863 illigitimate to Jessie McBain.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated

Hi Thanks for your reply.    Alexander,s death  8/4/1873  Rebecca,s was 2/12/1866

So far I have found very little else about them, but I am curious as to why they are buried in the Bain plot when I had never came accross them in my research.   Only thing I could think of was Alexander  maybe William Bain,s father, but being born illigitimate went by his mothers name.

Buried in same grave is William Donald Bain  12/12/1884...    Jessie Reid Bain 4/7/1890...Donald Reid Bain 25/3/1894....Maggie Jessie Bain  2/4/1894....William Bain 29/1/1938

Stone Number A925   then Stone A 926 is William,s son Alexander Bain who was actually killed in WW1   on 8/8/1918 and buried in France, so they must just ave put his name there.

Thankyou so much for taking the time  Regards ab

Sorry more questions

Who was the first person buried in the grave as this could be the link

I have found in my own family siblings of an ancestor buried with the family of the husband of their aunt

He had died previously and at the time of the children's death my family had not bought a plot

Could be employer/employee related.

:) Possibly 4 good friends who decided to split the cost of a plot.

Unfortunately you are looking at events pre 1855 which makes it harder to sort out relationships

Have you found both couples in the census do they live close to each other

Thanks everyone.  Every new thought or interpretation helps so much'

Does anyone know whether the names on the particular stones would have been copied from the actual gravestones, or from cemetry records ?
