Ann Parkinson, married to Thomas Beswick (1790)
« on: Thursday 15 February 18 14:05 GMT (UK) »
I have Ann Parkinson married to Thomas Beswick (baptised in 1762) in 1790. They had a son, Henry (1796 to 1875). I think the area was Bolton.

I have possible parents for Ann:

Thomas Parkinson 1709 or 1719 to 1784 linked to Goosnargh
Ann Horribin 1718 to 1776 linked to Bolton

Can anyone help to confirm or not that they were Ann's parents? Or any other information about Ann?

Thanks very much for any help you can give.

I'm just looking for some information. If you don't have any, that's fine.

Ann Horribin 1718 to 1776 linked to Bolton

Can anyone help to confirm or not that they were Ann's parents? Or any other information about Ann?

Thanks very much for any help you can give.

I take it you don't know Ann's approximate birth year?
Do you know when Ann died?
Did Ann have any other children?
(I'm trying to work out her likely age to narrow down the numerous Ann Parkinson baptisms.)

Was Ann alive at 1841 census? If so, I could see 3 possibles:
1. At Rose Hill, Bolton, aged 70-74
2. At Harwood, near Bolton, a farmer aged 60-64
3. Nancy at Over Darwen, aged 60-64
There was also a Nancy at Breightmet but I think she was on 1851 with husband William, so not your Ann.

You say you think the area was Bolton. Do you mean the marriage of Thomas and Ann, the birth of Henry or both events? What are the sources of your information about these events? I don't see the marriage on LAN OPC.

Help us to help you.

Thomas Parkinson: What is the link to Goosnargh? Was he baptised, married or buried there? Did he work or occupy property there? Do you know his occupation?
Ann Horrobin: What were her links to Bolton? I know there were Horrobins at Edgworth near Bolton.
Do you know if & when they married?

Were the Beswick, Parkinson or Horrobin families Nonconformist?
