black/anderson family lived in markethill, armaugh ni
« on: Thursday 15 February 18 14:25 GMT (UK) »
Im looking into my fathers line, and need any information on the Black and Anderson family. They were oringinally from Markethill Northern Ireland. William Black married a Fanny Anderson in 1852. William was born in 1829 and Fanny 1834. Does anyone have any information of the parents of these 2. They ended up living in Newcastle.

Hi
I've just checked the younger children's birth registrations and the Gro index gives their mother as a Miss Willis.
They have a son born 9.10.1870 Market hill Armagh and eldest daughter Harriet at Newcastle 10.7.1853  if i have the right family.
Do you have their marriage cert with father's names?

Hi ive just checked my info, i have a Harriet Black, she was 9 on the 1861 census in Newcastle. Shes followed by Luke 5, Martha 3 and Sarah M 1 (this is my gt grandmother) I dont have a copy of the marriage certificate, just a birth certificate for a Sarah daughter of the above sarah in 1898. It looks like Fanny nee Anderson remarried a Thomas Quinn. Im trying to find out the Ancestors from markethill. I wonder who miss willis was.

non-Roman Catholic Marriages are recorded from 1845, Roman Catholic Marriages are recorded from 1864, hence my question!

I know that william Black married Fanny Anderson in newcastle all Saints Church in 1852. He is on the 1861 census as being born in Ireland. Unfortunatly Fanny Willis is a different person but thanks. Trying to find the birth record for william Black born in 1829 in armagh.
Thank you for your help
