George Woodwards/Woodards

Hi.

I am going over a line in my tree I haven't look at in ages. The couple are my 4x great grandparents George Woodwards and Sarah Franklin. They marry in Sandridge in 1818 5th Dec.
Georges name is given as Woodards.

I am looking to pinpoint his birth. In 1851/61 he states 51- widow aged 60 aglab born Wheathampstead. 61 - lodger widow age 72 works on highway born Wheathampstead.

Looking for a birth around 1790 + or - a couple of years. Can anyone help?

Hi,  on FindMyPast there is a baptism of a George Woodward 9 March 1792 in Hitchin which I think is close to Wheathampstead.  Son of John & Sarah.  John is a Ginger Bread Baker.

Worth looking at that one further. I found another the same distance south from Wheathampstead at Kings Langley.

Various trees on ancestry also give his birth as 1818 again no evidence.

A ginger bread baker would be a first! I like that.
