India - Jewish people who were railway employees of the Brits in Mumbai
« on: Thursday 15 February 18 13:34 GMT (UK) »
Hi, there,

Would you have any ideas as to how I might find out about Jewish people who were railway employees of the Brits in Mumbai and who may have been nationals of countries other than GB or India? I'm doing some research into a friend's family history for him and am having difficulty finding out how both his grandfather's wives, who were Jewish, actually came to be in India. I can't find a trace of either woman on the British censuses up to and including 1901.

Regards.
