Dorset Family History Society’s Monthly Meeting
« on: Friday 16 February 18 09:49 GMT (UK) »
Dorset Family History Society will be meeting on Monday 9th April 2018 at St John’s Church Centre Hall, Ashley Road (opposite Waitrose), Upper Parkstone, Poole, BH14 0AA. Doors open at 19.30 for 20.00 start. Everyone welcome. Entry is £2 to include refreshments.

Howard Nichols will be giving an interesting talk entitled ’Potty about Poole Pots’.

Howard will give a different view of Poole Pottery’s history, not just the official story, but the story of this famous factory and its wares from the eyes of a collector. With the recent closure of the Poole Pottery shop the ties with its home town since 1873 are now sadly broken.

Howard Nichols was born and raised on the South Coast and attended Ringwood Grammar School. His working life was spent with the NHS Ambulance Service and then as an instructor with the RNLI. He has travelled the world by various modes of transport, and with this experience gives talks at home, on cruise ships and at various tourist destinations.
