Help with finding grandad.
« on: Friday 16 February 18 16:02 GMT (UK) »
I have been trying without success to trace what happened to my maternal grandfather......my mum never spoke about her dad. I sent for his and my grandmas marriage certificate and a lady on here kindly found a piece in a newspaper about him stealing some ham from his employer, other than that I can't find his death certificate or any other trace of him. His name was Richard Barry Born 1877, fathers name Thomas, married my grandma Mary Jane Dalby 26thDec 1913 in St Mary's Church Bradford.

There are numerous possible births for Richard Barrys born about 1877ish - none in Bradford area.
When and where was he last heard of?
Do you know when and where Mary died - was she a widow then?

Thanks for replies, all I know about him is what's on his marriage certificate to grandma. She died in Leeds on the12th May 1958 when I was 5, and it says she was a widow. On my mums birth certificate on 17th 0ct 1919 he is named as father and their living in Leeds.

There is more info about him on the other thread!  He was a warehouseman, was at home on 1939 register, but away in war years, etc.

What was his occupation on his marriage certificate?
Was he a warehouse man then?
