 hi to any who can give any advice  i have downloaded mod form to get my late fathers ww2 records.
 
it states that is mandatory to put his  dob (which i have + death   certificate ) and his service number

which is something i don't have so according i pay £30 and do get nothing ,so  how do i get his number

Fear not, assuming it is army, look at the form again, only surname and other names are mandatory. Bit further down, service number OR dob needed - apply away!  Other services are the same.
