Marriage extract second opinion
« on: Saturday 17 February 18 19:49 GMT (UK) »
Hello. I am looking for a second opinion on the names listed on the paperwork attached. I believe I have the correct names from another baptism of a half sibling from Honora's first marriage.

The children were all baptised St. Thomas Portsmouth. It does look like it says father of John Marlow was Thomas Marlow (which matches current data). The hand writing of the parish looks like it says Thomas but I never did find a marriage before in the indexes.

If anyone could let me know what they think in their opinion the document states?

It's late (that's my excuse!) but I can't see Marlow in there anywhere! I can see what looks like Spencer...  ???

Thank you for your reply.

It is part of the Royal Marines school hospital admission report from National Archives for Thomas Marlow son of John Marlow and Honora/Annora.

Which part did you think said Spencer? Could that be the person certifying the marriage? I have never found a marriage record for the couple mentioned yet, unsure what date it says on this apart from 1821?

More documents here, one of them seems to be writing asking for the document I attached previously.

Oh, crumbs.  ::)
I read "I certify that the...". Oops.

I'm too tired. To me it looks like "In the Parish Church of St hmm" and that the Curate's name is Thomas Hamsheet.
I'm no use to anyone tonight. I'd better get some sleep..!  :o

Thank you. I thought it was St. Thomas too but was not sure as no record on the indexes. It could be on separate Royal Marines register.

On the other document it seems to show a child from previous marriage 14 years old being named Michael Riordan so that must be the surname listed on this? I was trying to read if it matches to a baptism I found for a Michael Riordan to a Honora Lyons and Cornellius Riordan.

I wonder if you could find Thomas Hamstreet, the Curate. If that is his name, of course  :)
