Finding Missouri Settlements book?
« on: Saturday 17 February 18 23:42 GMT (UK) »
I went through a index for probates in Platte, Missouri. It indicates the date was July 4, 1953. It was a Missouri Settlement. However, there isn't a Platte, Missouri Settlement book that was back that far. Volume 1 1872 was the first volume. Am I missing something? It is for Albert Wallace with the administrator of the estate named J.M. Mulkey.

Is this the index you are referring to?

Presumably, the settlement books for those earlier years have not been digitized.  Perhaps they no longer exist.  But, any rate, the entry for Albert Wallace says "no settlements."

The Platte County courthouse was destroyed in 1861.  The probate records you seek might have been destroyed at that time.
