Compiled by Mr Stuart Farrell, the Scottish Genealogy Society has published “Humbie & Fala Free Church Baptisms 1844-1902, Marriages 1845-1866 and Roll of Communicants 1844-1881”. Transcribed from registers held in the National Records of Scotland (ref: CH3/173), the Baptism register starts in December 1844 and gives the name of the child, parents’ names, (occasionally) residence, and date of birth. The marriage register starts in December 1845 and gives names of parties and residences. The Communicants list gives the name, address, and sometimes occupation as well as remarks such as “left Whitsunday 1853”.
