Thanks for the info. I can see on Speed's map online that Owmers ties in with Newbrough, which means that Owmer's House where Smith died is definitely not Homer's House. Therefore, the note I have that she died in Homer's House is wrong. The cottage was certainly in existence in 1817 because that is when Isabel Hedley died in that cottage. What I am trying to find is when the Hedleys may have moved in. The 1803 reference would have given me an approximate date but that seems to be blown away now. Assuming the 1769 map is correct, I don't need to go past then to find the cottage, but I think the Hedleys were married in 1773 anyway. The search continues...
