James Ackerley / Haggarty Married to Catherine circ 1850s

Hi
Wondering if anyone can help me, I am looking for the maiden name of Catherine Ackerley / Haggarty, born in Ireland circ 1819 she was married to James Ackerley born in Scotland 1828. I have found the family on the census's from 1851 onwards but I am unable to find a marriage record for them.

To complicate matters there are different spellings of the name, more recent is Ackerley but previously Haggarty, Haggerty, Haggarton. Family stories goes that they changed the surname from Haggerty to Ackerley as they lived in the north of England they believed changing to a more English sounding name it would be help them find work etc...

Any help would be much appreciated....

Baptisms of Maria, Eliza, Hannah, Sarah & Emilia can all be found on lancashireopc at St Joseph, Heywood
All give mothers maiden name Scholes

It looks as though you need to purchase the marriage certificate to try and get further back.
