Was he the William Barker living at Turton at 1851 census, a 49 year-old widower with Joseph, 21, Mary, 18 and Richard, 16, all born in Yorkshire?

Yes! He most certainly was!  Do you have any info/links with the Barker family of Bolton by Bowland (where Joseph, Mary, Richard + others born?).  This was where Wm and Elizabeth Walker were married on 2 June 1825 (Par Church of St Peter & St Paul).  Please respond - fingers crossed you can add more info?  Thanks 'Maiden Stone'
