Thank you all so much, brilliant work. All the relatives will be delighted. He was a bit of a rogue, bankruptcy in New Zealand, then gold prospector, left one family behind in South Australia went to South Africa then had another family in England, gave them the same names as the children in S.A.!!

Thanks Carol, I haven't restored anything for a while, so I rushed it a little, I used to do it for a job about 20 years ago, I mainly colour old black and whites for pleasure now. I wasn't looking for something to do, I came across it whilst looking for the name Payne. I love old pictures and I thought if the person who wanted it done, wanted to print it out they'd have a job finding a long thin frame so thought I'd just make it bigger  ;D ....the other restorations posted below mine look amazing!  ;D
