« on: Monday 19 February 18 08:00 GMT (UK) »
Hi All
Is there a way to perhaps link the 1832 tithe applotment books for Antrim to a specific farm?
Thanks Will

If you know the townland, compare surnames and total amount of land in the Tithe Applotments to the same townland in Griffith's Valuation.  It may not be 100% guaranteed but you can often be pretty sure.  Then also check the surnames and amount of land in the censuses of 1901 and 1911.  That's a little more uncertain due to the number of years in between and changes in land holdings but you might get lucky.

Don't forget to convert the Irish acres used in the Applotments to the statute acres used in Griffith's.

If the family was still living in the same townland by the time of Griffiths Valuation (c 1860 for Antrim) then the maps that go with it should show you where the farm was.

Thanks all I was not aware of thr acre size difference. I can compare valuation books with Griffiths as I have both.
Many thanks Will
