Norwood Family (Lisburn area) Duffield Connections?
« on: Monday 19 February 18 11:41 GMT (UK) »
David Maxwell Duffield  (son of George Duffield and Margaret McIlroy), is buried in the same grave as a Wilhelmina Norwood (1885-1974). She was unmarried, and her parents were William Norwood (1842-95) and Mary McLean, who lived in the Lisburn area, during the second half of the 19th century.
The above named, Wm Norwood was a Builder, and I know that his father was named Jonathan.

An Arthur Maxwell from the Hilhall area, was a witness to the marriage of Wm and Mary in 1884.

I am attempting to establish a connection between the Duffield's and the Norwood's. Does anyone have any information, that could help me?

Wm Norwood and Mary McLean were married at May Street Presbyterian Church, Belfast in 1884. Wm had been married previously to a lady named Patterson, and had several children to her.

The Indexes to the Civil Records of Irish Births, Deaths and Marriages date from 1864 with non-Roman Catholic Marriages recorded from 1845.

The years covered by the release of the historic Indexes to the Civil Records of Births, Marriages and Deaths are:

Births: 1864 to 1916

Marriages: 1845* to 1941

Deaths: 1864 to 1966

*non-Roman Catholic Marriages are recorded from 1845,

so you can search https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/civil-search.jsp  for them
