An MB is off line I will try and explain to you.

Previously you searched FreeBMD for Birth Reg post Sept 1837
You had to buy the Cert to find the Parents names including Mothers name/maiden name.

The fairly new GRO Index has Mothers maiden named listed.
It is free to search but you must register to look at records.

Thanks Trish, that is hugely useful.
I always send for my certificates through GRO so will check this new feature out. :)
