Margaret Henderson v Anna Henderson
« on: Monday 19 February 18 20:07 GMT (UK) »
According to FreeReg, an Alexander Tailyer married Anna Henderson on 17th May 1715 (FreeReg says 16th April 1715 but gives 17th May in register notes) at Athelstaneford. They then went on to have several children (at least 5 I think).

In LDS, on 23rd Feb 1718 a William Tailyer, son of Alexander Tailyer and Margaret Henderson, was baptised in Athelstaneford. This is the only reference to Margaret Henderson that I can find (other SP has the same baptism record). The witnesses to William's baptism include a Patrick King who was also witness to most of Anna's children's baptism.

There is no record I can find of Anna having a son William, and may be I'm finding connections that aren't relevant but could Ana and Margaret be one and the same!?

They could be, but the only way to know is to research the parish records book and find the real records, as both of what you have looked at are transcripts, so both could be human errors and/or the LDS is old IGI (now called 'CDs) and much of that is collected/donated or purely made up but one thing about them is never to be trusted as real and only to be used as a clue about where to look for the real record.

HI,

It looks like the images are available through the LDS,

http://www.rootschat.com/links/01lm2/

but you will have to go to a family history centre or a FamilySearch affiliate library.

You will have to search for nearest one to your location.

LDS discontinued ordering of microfilms last year so it may not be available.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Some visitor centre! Two PCs housed in a cupboard, but still, I could access images.

After viewing the originals, I'm still no further forward. I only had time to look at baptism records but the transcripts are accurate representations of what was written down.

So I still not sure if Margaret Henderson is also Anna Henderson!

I'm glad that you could see the images, albeit in a cupboard   ;D

It's a shame that it doesn't answer your question though, is it possible that Anna was Margaret Anna, or Anna Margaret?
