Help finding living family members?
« on: Wednesday 21 February 18 15:44 GMT (UK) »
Hi there,

My mother bought a box of books at an auction and inside was a beautiful large bible that the owners had recorded marriages and births into. I won't post the births here as they were as recent as they were all born in the 1960's, which is recent.

The only information i have on the marriages is the following:

Miss Elsie Roberta(?) Carter
Mr Anthony James williams

Married 1st September 1959

I seemed to have found the marriage register records on ancestry which says they were married in Wandsworth, Surrey. I also found all the children mentioned in the book on ancestry.

I built a small (and private) tree with their names in the hopes of finding a public member tree that shared them in case I found a family member. However, it seems not one has popped up.

Can anyone help my find any living relatives of this family so that I may return this beautiful book to them?

Have you tried simply googling the names of the people born on the '60's?  They may well come up on Linked in , or Facebook, or on a website for their employer, or such like.
Edmonds/Edmunds - mainly Sussex
DeBoo - London
Green - Suffolk
Parker - Sussex
Kemp - Essex
Farrington - Essex
Boniface - West Sussex

Ancestry has the London Electoral registers upto 1965 online. They may give you a start.

The surnames don't help much, maybe too frequently occuring.

I have tried this, for it to only pop up with Facebook suggestions. One or two potentials popped up whom I have messaged, but they seemed a stretch at most and unlikely to be the children I am looking for. The rest were not matches, sadly.

Try the local history group for that area most have group pages on Facebook. Often if shared in a group you can reach a wider range of people.
Good luck hope you are able to reunite it with one of the people mentioned in the bible.

FindMyPast has more recent electoral registers.  If you don't have a sub you may find your local library does.

Is, I wonder, given the date, that it is possible the children of the marriage put it in the auction whilst clearing their parents house.

Where was the Auction?  Contact the Auctioneers to ask if they can contact the Sellers??
