Richard Murphy had his own haulage firm just found the picture of it from the Markfield hear old magazine it talks about my grandads brother Jim cooper who lived in ratby lane with his two daus one was Mary she lived in Ibstock but has since passedaway I think her family was called love or Lovett .mr hulls shop ratby lane bordered on one side one side the home of mr chapman builder he built my grandads bungalow that we knocked down in 1977 -8 there must have been a field it talks of horses was were Charnwood productions was it was a timber yard and sawmill mr Murphy was welknown in the parish also district & parochial councillor their stock was coffin boards .he also did ladders and he used beech for shoe heels he helped farmers with gates sheds garden furniture .the picture was on the earl of Lanesborough,s estate swithland in the picture there are two names Ernie bot and Harry finch tipper drivers ,Charnwood productions was on the A50 end of Ratby lane .
