This happened with my great grandfather (who knew the correct date) - on his death certificate his son still put the 'offical' one - even though he celebrated his birthday on the actual day (because his mother only confessed to the one on the birth certificate when he was in his twenties) -

On the plus side you can see when someone has taken the date off my family tree (I do have a note on there explaining why it's not the date on the certificate

Thanks everyone, interesting stories. Obviously doesn’t actually matter, especially in my case as Esther (named after her grandmother) died as a baby.
