Stephen Stocks Sharples- Born 1852, Preston,Lancashire

Stephen is a relative of mine. His parents were Margaret(nee Stocks) Sharples, Father Ralph.

Father Ralph died in 1861 and Mother remarried John Kenyon. I can find no record of Stephen after 1861 Census.
Could anybody help please?

Was he born re his parents marriage and reverted to his mother's maiden name of Stocks??

Was he already with Margaret J Hall in 1869? She would only be about 12 yrs or is the n o k from a later or updated record?

Thanks.   I  should have said that his parents Ralph and Margaret didn't marry to the second qtr in 1852 and Stephen was born in the first qtr 1852

Thank you everybody for your help. A complicated person. He was baptised as Stocks Sharples but the birth was registered as Stocks. 1961 Census he is Sharples and then later he is Stocks.
