O'Sullivans from Gortnatona, Kilcummin, Killarney, Co Kerry
« on: Friday 23 February 18 13:57 GMT (UK) »
Hi Guys,
I'm new to this and have hit a brick wall researching my Irish side of the family.
What I know is that my Grandmother, Mary O'sullivan was a farmers daughter from Gortnatona, she had three sisters Eileen (or Helen), Hanna (Hannah?) and Margaret. She was born in circa 1918.
Her father was Edward O'sullivan of Gortnatona, who I believe was involved with the IRA/Cumann na mBan. I believe his parents were Edward & Ellen, but I have lots of blanks to fill in!
I have no idea of my great grandfathers wifes name or maiden name?
Any info or points in the right direction gratefully received!

Hello and welcome.

Here are two useful sites which are free to search. The Irish census 1901 and 1911.

http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/search/

Irish Genealogy https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/

It is straightforward to use but you have to solve a captcha puzzle.
