Death Record dated 1981 unclear handwriting
« on: Friday 23 February 18 16:17 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

My great-great grandfather died in 1981 at the age of 94, but I can't really make out the cause of death. To me it looks something like "sockchopnanaimia" which makes no sense whatsoever. He died at Leopardstown Park Hospital.

Can anyone make more sense of this than my own botched attempt?

Bronchopneumonia several days

The other word could be 'Dementia'

This is very odd handwriting. Having looked at the strange way the the letters m and n are formed in the word bronchopneumonia I’d agree with Rosie that the second word is dementia.

Thanks guys, bronchopneumonia certainly makes more sense than my alphabet soup attempt.I had already known about the dementiaso that clear enough. He was a WW1 veteran who had some breathing problems as a result.
