I wonder if "Harrops"was a firm or factory and she worked there?
It would be a well known employer of many people and I the vicinity it would perhaps not be deemed necessary to give more details.
For example where I lived in Manchester if anyone was asked what there employment was a woman especially would answer "Holland`s"--automatically it was known she was a spinner

Thanks all!  Yes, I think it's Harrop.  It wasn't until I started looking at the other entries that I realised that the occupation column had been used to write all sorts in, including distinguishing marks.  So, it could have been another name or indeed where she worked - thanks for that, Viktoria.  A bit like saying "Fox's" or "Steelos" in Sheffield, everyone would know you worked in the steelworks, it wouldn't need any explanation.
I am just chasing a VERY elusive ancestor, but I might be barking up the wrong tree again!
