Yes I had found Margaret who was baptised in 1824. With regard to Abraham he died aged 1 month and was buried at Llanbeblig 27/8/1814. Also buried there are Owen 13/1/1845 aged 64 and his wife, now spelt Laura Williams, 3/4/1854 aged 73. Both of South Penrallt.

Glyn,

Can I ask another favour - could you look at a Llanllyfni baptism on 21 May 1782 for  Owen Wms (Williams) -looks a possible fit.

Alan

PS Just seen for note for baptism 7 Sept 1781 -many thanks - there are so many of these possibilities.

Glyn,

Thanks again - I'm inclined to go with your 7/9/1781 - Owen son of William and Jane Jones.

May have just found the marriage of William Vaughan Williams/Loury Jones at St Twrog, Llandwrog, on 24 Dec 1813)

Lowry, daughter of John Owen and Margaret, baptised Llanddeiniolen 1st of July 1782.
I think there's an address, but its unclear.(A birth of a girl Elin in 1784 to parents of the same name gives the address as Coed Bolyn)

I suspect that the marriage details for Llanddeiniolen for 1797-1810 are missing - I've seen the Hayes register for that period, and there's a gap.
Owen , Parry , Pritchard, Foulkes  o Llanddeiniolen
Jones, Bellis o Sir Fflint
Williams o Beaumaris
Chambers o Dulyn
Rowlands o Tywyn

Just a comment on the name Vaughan. This is the anglicized version of the Welsh word “fychan” pronounced roughly like “vekkan”.

It just means the second one.

I once met an American Christian F. Baiz II. In Welsh he would have been Christian F. Baiz Vaughan (or Fychan). So the name pops up everywhere in Wales were it is irritatingly common to have long lines of fathers and sons with exactly the same names.

It seems that from about 1800 or so when things were recorded more precisely, Vaughan arose as a surname just because some official wrote it down that way without any long string of ancestors from the “Vaughan” family.

Hi,

How interesting - it could just be that William was the second born.

Much appreciated - I had no idea of this.
