From Michael Lee’s marriage cert:

Just says labourer unfortunately for Timothy Lee’s occupation

The witnesses are:

Patrick  Allen
Matthew Allen (first name unclear - I can photograph if you like)

Thanks

David

It is perhaps not much help but I would think that the witnesses are this couple at 1871    5321/16/26

Pat and Martha Allen living in Tredegar with their children.

Mmm... Martha Allen is born Blaina

There is a marriage 1865 Crickhowell where Patrick Allen and Martha Kavanagh are on the same page.

There are births in Bedswelty
Patrick Allen 1866 mmn Cavinder
William Allen 1867 mmn Calinder
Elizabeth Allen 1869 mmn Cavinder

Hi Heywood

Yes that does look likely, that unclear name could easily be Martha. Hmmm I'm not sure what to do next. Any good ideas?

I don’t know if this is a red herring really.

It was just because the Coleman child possibly had a mmn similar to Kavanagh that I noticed it but Cavinder and Calinder are not quite so close. :-\

Maybe the boy wasn’t a grandson - just enumerated as that.

It might be best to just note the Allens and leave them.
I can only see a birth for a Martha Carver with mmn Wathen.

I have gone over the various threads - I find them a bit confusing and I am not sure whether you have your Mary Ann in 1871 as a baby.
However, I will post this:

1871 5321/14/21
39 George Street, Tredegar
Margaret Leahy 20 yrs b Llanelly
Mary Ann Leahy 6 months b Tredegar

They are in the household of Rees and Mary Rees and children.

Rees Rees and Mary Gibbon are spouses on the same marriage page 1865

Ha I’m quite glad you’re confused too - the Lee clan are quite evasive ;-)
