Long family of Kingston Deverell
« on: Monday 26 February 18 17:41 GMT (UK) »
I wonder if anything is known of the family of Stephen and Ann Long of Kingston Deverell? Their daughter Sarah married a Robert Newton, who died at Cerne Workhouse in 1905 and then married George Foot in 1916. I don't know if she had a job?
Many thanks for any help.

Mark

When and where have you already found Stephen and Ann? Have you got years of birth for them?  Or at least for Sarah?

I wonder if there are any addresses and further information regarding Robert and Sarah and their children and occupations? I had been told that he was a seaman but can find no record of him ever being at sea.

After Robert's death, I understand that she lived in Cerne Abbas. I also understand that she continued to live in her own property even after marrying George Foot, late in life (both dying in 1923). Any of her addresses would also be wonderful.

Very many thanks

Mark

In 1851, 1861, 1881 & 1901 Robert is an Agricultural Labourer.
As yet cannot see any evidence of Robert being a seaman, however have not located him in 1871.  ???

Sarah's address appears to be Plush, Dorchester, Dorset.
