S F Stevens - shopfront from c1910
« on: Monday 26 February 18 20:19 GMT (UK) »
This is an image of my great grand uncle's shopfront from 20 The Pavement, Clapham Common.

If anyone is prepared to take on the challenge of cleaning/colourising this image I would be most grateful.

With regards to colours - all I know is that his bakery delivery vans were red & cream but I'm happy to leave the colours in your hands.

but what a transformation......thank you so much Pat. I hope this one has not cost you your sanity!

It never ceases to amaze me how the introduction of colour makes such a difference to the original.

I love the baker peeking out of the side door - fantastic job  ;D

Most of the old family photos I have accumulated over 10 years of researching my family history. My family were big in the bakery business (not that I knew anything about this until I started researching) & it all began with my great grand uncle Samuel who started the business in 1877 & moved into the shop on Clapham Common in 1905. I do have a great photo of the annual staff outing from 1923 which I wouldn't have the nerve to ask you kind people to colour  ;)

Thank you for your comments everybody.  I do rather like working on photos with lots of details, sometimes it works, sometimes it is a big no no, but I was rather pleased with this one. Time for a lie down now  :) :) :)
