Edmund & Hannah Burley - help with dating & colourising please
« on: Monday 26 February 18 23:17 GMT (UK) »
This is an image of my great grandparents & I know that the photo was taken by the Wykeham Studios in either Balham or Streatham so I believe it dates the photo to no earlier than 1911-1913 but I'm thinking it is more likely to be 1920 - can anyone help with dating this?

Also I would like to request the services of the talented colourisation crew who were brilliant in bringing to life my image of my other grandparents.

Keith

Thank you - this really brings my great grandparents to 'life' - I love all the small details (my great grandmother's jewellery) - I hope you are pleased with the results, I certainly am!

Another cracker from you Pat - love the way your colourisation has brought the detail out in their hands & faces. Do you think the open magazine/paper is purely a prop & has no other significance?

Thanks again

Books, Bibles and magazines in photos indicate literacy.

Carol

Not disagreeing with you Carol, but wouldn't literacy be almost a given at that time in History?  Just thinking.

It looks much later than 1913 to me   -  How old were these people when they died? - could help indicate date of photo.
