Eliza Jane Walker born 1865
« on: Tuesday 27 February 18 15:39 GMT (UK) »
Eliza Jane Walker was born on 22 July 1865 to Mary Creany in Kilmore, Co. Down.  Her father was Isaac Walker, my great grandfather.  She was illegitimate and baptised in the catholic church in Kilmore.    Since she would be closely related to me I would love to know what happened to her.

Is she on 1901 census?

Have you searched for a marriage for her?

Are parents on 1901 census?

Yes, I know all about her father, but can't find her mother, or a marriage.

The register is showing her DOB as the 16th July 1865

Thanks for that Sam, I had only her baptism record.  Was Cole Lane the workhouse?

Yes I think it might have been, because in her Birth Certificate, it states an "inmate" as present at the birth.
Found this on the 1901 Census, might it be Mary ?

Residents of a house 12 in Money (Kilmore, Armagh)
Show all information
Surname
Forename

Relation to head

Creany Mary 50 Female Head of Family R Catholic    ?
Creany Elizabeth 40 Female Sister R Catholic

But it would mean she gave birth at a very young age ?

Yes I saw that, but this is Kilmore Parish in Co. Armagh..the Kilmore where Eliza was baptised is a Townland in Shankill Parish in Co. Down. On the Civil registration the mother is called Margaret.   On the baptism she was called Mary!

I am not sure that Cole Street is the workhouse -

I believe the Lurgan workhouse address was William Street or John Street

Its now Lurgan Hospital - Sloan Street

Aghalee seems to be between Lurgan and Antrim

Is there possibly another workhouse serviing Aghalee (Lisburn?) - Lisburn Workhouse is now Lagan Valley Hospital
