Many thanks to everyone who had a crack at restoring the photo of my cousins Stephen;  I'm afraid you always were on a bit of a "hiding to nothing." There was not a lot to work with, and the upper right side of his figure was just about burnt out.  I shall add all the results to my family photo records and leave future generations to choose their preferences.
