Lots of great info there from everyone. Twists and turns as always!

Did Mary Rennie Longridge/Cochrane return to the UK for a spell in 1958?

There is a possible entry for her returing for 3 months to the UK from Canada via a New York sailing, arriving at Southampton on 24 May 1958. She gave the address of 884 Tollcross Road Glasgow for her UK stay. There is also a matching birth date of 15 March 1901 as showing on Annette's earlier post.

Mary Rennie Longridge was born 15th March 1901 Creetown, illegitimate daughter of Elizabeth Longridge, dressmaker.

Still can't see a divorce (with the new names we have for Mary) or a possible second marriage for James Cochrane to a Minnie Dodds. I tried searching for name variants of Minnie such as those here www.whatsinaname.net/php/search.php?action=search2&search_name=minnie

From Capricorn's details earlier, the Minnie Dodds Cochrane death index would imply a marriage at some point. Maybe yes or maybe not?

Marriage maybe Ireland or England or maybe just common law who ever registered Minnie's death presumed they were married

'JenkinsFamilyHistory', if you have access to A/try's family trees, there is one here for William Longridge and Elizabeth Copland, maternal family to Mary from what has been found www.ancestry.co.uk/family-tree/person/tree/108906394/person/180088052194/facts

You also have this www.geni.com/people/William-longridge-Loughridge/6000000013230638682

Treat with care until you are able to verify these details yourself, but always interesting to see, work from and check  ::)
