Fitzgerald House is where the pub was?

It's a lovely place.

Thanks for the google street map link.  Much appreciated.

Is there any way that I could look at any more listings to find out what the 'T' stands for in T Strawbridge?

Thomas Strawbridge (age 27, inn keeper) was married in Macclesfield in 1854 (to Elizabeth Holt). His father was Joseph Strawbridge, a cork cutter.

Fitzgerald House is an annex to the main town hall which is a bit further along Market Place. The Punch Bowl and a number of other inns were previously in that location (where the town hall complex is now) but precisely where is difficult to ascertain.

Here's the marriage record. If you are not registered with Family Search you will need to register to view the image (it's free)

Thanks Shaunj. How can you be sure the marriage record is the same person as the publican? What links the two?

I'm not doubting your findings, I'm interested to know.

Thanks again to all for your help.

What links the two?

The name + the occupation (inn keeper)

Also see baptism for daughter Agnes in 1857 https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HT-62K8-35Z?i=593&cc=1614792
