"Thomas Moone of ......."
« on: Saturday 03 March 18 00:58 GMT (UK) »
Hi

I am hoping someone here will be able to help me work out the second word in the attached image [the word immediately after 'of'] before the phrase "the sume of five pounds". The extract is from a Will I am currently working on.

The word looks like either "Trebles" or "Treblers" but I am not certain.

Thanks for any help and suggestions.

Matt

The third last letter is definitely an e.  Compare to after in the previous line.

There is a Treblers in East Sussex in the Rotherfield area. (Variously Treblers, Treblers Green, Treblers Farm, Treblers Wood in different censuses)

Hi

Thanks for that. Treblers would make perfect sense as Thomas Moone was from Rotherfield as were a lot of the Moone family.

Thanks again
