Bridget and James McQuillen
« on: Sunday 04 March 18 07:07 GMT (UK) »
Kia ora,
I am trying to establish what Parish Bridget and James came from.  I have had some assistance from AshNz as he has also searched this couple with success.  The outcome of that was that Bridget was Scally.  She left Antrim when she was 20 and James left when he was 24, she headed to America and he Canada.  He stayed there 12 years. I am not sure where they met but they married in Trenton, not sure if that is Canada or America some time around 1868, they then returned to Ireland and a few months later left for New Zealand on the ship Selina.  I note that other researchers noted that they came to NZ on a different ship but Bridgets Obituary states the Selina, arriving in Lyttleton, NZ in 1870, settling in Geraldine, South Canterbury.
I appreciate any information or advice.

You are amazing!!! TRULY!!!!! If only you knew how long I have been searching for that!!!!!  I am so grateful, thank you so much.  I have just tried that website you kindly gave, but won't let me in as I wanted to know other details, like did they write down their parents details?  I will try again, even if I have to re-register.
My sincere thanks and best wishes.

FamilySearch site is offline for a few hours today, for maintenance or redesign or something you should have no problem later or tomorrow.
