That does look as if it is a possibility.

It would be handy then if you could get his Attestation Papers, I got hold of my Ggrandfather's and there was a lot of useful information on them.

I can't find his Attestation Papers online. The only other thing I can see is his membership into the Freemasons in 1914.

Maybe someone on the Armed Forces board would know what those abbreviations meant .

Ah yes, that will be where I came up with the year 1955, I had forgotten where I saw that! Thank you for pointing that out and jogging my memory.
