WlLLIAM REUBEN,born 1780,probably in Essex.
« on: Tuesday 06 March 18 16:23 GMT (UK) »
His burial in West Hanningfield in 1832 records him as a carpenter and farmer,52 years.
He married Susan Green in West Hanningfield in 1802 and is described as "of Little Baddow".
Cannot seem to find any earlier record of him and would be very interested to learn more about him.

Have you tried the Essex Record Office?
SEAX is the index and for a subscription you can view most parish records and many wills on file.

Little Baddow is not on Freereg as yet.

BT of the West Hanningfield marriage has him as Reubens. Gives witnesses.

Sadly no Reuben (or similar) households in the 1801 census of Little Baddow

Left a will which you can also see on SEAX
Will of William Reuben of West Hanningfield, farmer
Commissary of Bishop of London
17 January 1833

Hi
While you're there looking at his Will try W Green's Will 1818 Br 32 248 as he seems to be the executor.
Presumably William Green of Stebbing

Very many thanks for replies.
Peter Green, witness to the marriage, was a family member.I do have a copy of William Reuben's will.At the moment I do not have a subscription to  Seax, but cannot come  up with that reference to W Green's will when searching?
Thanks again.

Hi
I got the reference from the Essex Beneficiaries index for W Green off Find my past.
I've not tried Seax so don't know what sort of referance numbers or letters they may have.
FindMyPast doesn't give any more details.

It's the will of William Green of West Hanningfield, Butcher
Proved 26 February 1823, Commissary of Bishop of London
ERO ref  D/ABW 124/2/12

Date of the will is apparently 8 August 1818
William Reuben of West Hanningfield an executor, also Thomas Wisemore Grave of Chelmsford (who had died by the time the will was proved?)
Former a Carpenter, latter a Butcher.
