Thanks to all who have so far contributed to this post. I am recovering at present from major surgery and must confess I'm struggling to follow replies and who's who. Would someone kindly precise down the results as to who the parentage of Frederick Rouse is , what half siblings/siblings he had. I hope you do not mind this request.

John

Thanks to all who have contributed to this post and been patient with me. I've put together all the info and now made sense of it I think. Would others like to comment on my additional findings. Elizabeth Rouse, parents William and Jane is really Jane Elizabeth born 1861.  After having 3 children  with Rees Trivett he disappears after c 1882-3. Jane the has another son out of wedlock -Frederick Rouse 1888. She then marries John Davies in 1894 etc etc. Can anyone find Rees senior after 1882-3. Just to add that Rees Trevett went to the USA in 1882, met a Margaret Griffiths and by 1900 had 5 children with her. He died 1916.

Thanks
John

yes, Elizabeth was registered as Jane Elizabeth same as her mother. She was baptised 7 April 1861 in Nantyglo, daughter of William & Jane Elizabeth living in Brynmawr. It would appear that Rees was still around before the birth of the second Catherine, the name appears to come from the Trivett side of the family as Rees had a younger sister with that name. But there's a possible death registration for her as Rouse in 1883.

Susan Trivett, the widowed mother of Rees, remarried dec qtr 1883 to George Grice. I can't find them on the 1891 census either, but a widowed Susan Grice is on the 1901.

No sign of Rees after 1882 but you have him in the US after that.
