Jane Gearing
« on: Wednesday 07 March 18 22:40 GMT (UK) »
Jane Gearing was my maternal great grandmother. She married Edwin Gould at St Saviours Southwark in 1881. All the census information I have gives her birth place as Bermondsey but I have been unable to find any birth record for her. Her father was Patrick Gearing who I believe was born in Ireland. I think she had 7 siblings Bridget, Margaret, Ann, Polly, Tom, John ( Jack ) and Michael. I also have an address Mayfair Street Dublin. I think she may have been born in Ireland and was hoping someone may be able to help me find her birth record.

Several years ago Roots Chat helped me find my husbands grandfather. Hopefully somebody can help me find Jane

What dates do you have for her birth and her sibling births?
What places are given for sibling births?
What occupation does her father have, and what address at marriage , and what names witness?

Pauline
The answers to your questions are 1, Jane probably born 1861 but no dates for her siblings. 2, Places where siblings were born is not known although I was given the names by her grandson and the address of Mayfair St Dublin. 3,Patrick was a labourer. the address at time of marriage was 6 Aylesbury St Newington. The marriage took place at All Saints Newington and the witnesses were Thomas Gearing and Mary Wild.
Look forward to hearing if you find anything.

Thanks for that it's the first information I have on any of her siblings. There doesn't seem to be any information on their life in England before Jane's marriage though.
