« on: Thursday 08 March 18 09:26 GMT (UK) »
Is it possible for someone in the area to lookup the original marriage record on 4th August, 1895. St Michaels Church in Worcester.
Charles Williams a brick maker. Father also Charles Williams.
Louisa’s Hemming. Father is John Hemming a plasterer.
The address at the time of the marriage is Lich Street.

Many thanks

Just curious?
What information are you hoping to gain, that you don't already know?
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

I would like to see Charles Williams signature on the marriage certificate to compare with his second marriage to a Harriet Walker. I am trying to establish whether his first marriage was this one to Louisa Hemming or Mary Ann Young which took place in 1894 Aston Birmingham.

thanks

Surely that doesn't qualify as a lookup.  You want to see the original register entry signed by the couple.  The only way to do that is to order a copy of the marriage entry from Worcester register office, and even then only if they supply image copies which some registrars do and others don't.

Others will correct me if I'm wrong

Agree - someone doing a look up wont give you sight of the marriage cert/parish register entry.

Either order from the Register office as suggested, or direct from the gro.

Hopefully the name of father and occupation etc will help you confirm if you have the correct marriage, coupled with the presence (or not) of a death for the wife in the years before the second marriage.  Oh,  just seen you have the fathers details already ......  do they agree with what you know of your chaps father?
The witnesses names then will be the only extra info you will be getting then,

He was married in church, so the church marriage register would show his original signature, as well as those of his bride and the witnesses.  So it really depends on where the church registers are - still with the church or have they been deposited with the Records Office?  A request to the Records Office (not the Register Officer) would confirm, and as you know the exact date and location, obtaining a copy from the RO would entail minimal cost.

And I understand your wish to see those signatures.  I have marriage certificates dating from that time (as given to the couple) but I also have copies of the original marriage register entries showing their signatures.   :)
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Thank you all for your help.

I have sent an email to Worcestershire Records Office to see if they can provide me with this information
