Fred Stansfield Lord born 1913 Oldham

Hi. I am trying to find the parents of Fred Stansfield Lord. His birth registration gives his Mothers maiden name as Lord. So no help there! His middle name puzzles me. Is there a Stansfield family connection? Have tried to find a marriage between a Lord and Stansfield that would fit, but haven't come up with anything. Can someone please give me any clues? BOTH Lord and Stansfield are popular surnames in the area.

I suggest that you purchase the birth certificate and work from that, once you have full names for the parent(s) . You've 20 or so Lord-Lord births on that date, so it's nigh on impossible to sort them into family units.

If the index gives his mother's maiden name as Lord,then I suspect that he was indeed illegitimate.

As Pauline said the only way to find out is to purchase hius birth cert,available as a PDF for £6 now fromt he official GRO site.

You could of course wait till 2nd Jan 2022 when we hope the 1921 census will be released

Thanks Carol. No I haven't found him on the register, but I believe he was in the forces in ww2. Would this make him exempt?

Would there be a reason why father's surname isn't mentioned, or mothers name isn't listed? Any coincidence that the address is LORD st? Or am I overthinking this!!!!!

The register 'assumes'  that the father/mother surname is the same as the childs.  All entries on that page only list a first name under parent/guardian.
