If you post the name and how old he was in 1901/where born then maybe someone will be able to trace a death for him.

Was he married at the time?

thank you for the replies it is for William jones in Cardiff between 1901 and 1911 it isn't the one in 1910 as the record office crossed matched before I ordered. he  was born 1850 and married to an Eliza jones 1854 born Gloucester he was a slate/marble mason. I thought I may find something because of his profession but sadly not. I will have a look at the national achieves its not a site im familiar with
thanks again

I guess you haven't found him in 1911.

What about Eliza do you know when she died and if she was a widow at the time?

Is it the family with these 3 children in 1891
Florence 13
Edith 10
William G 6

Age wise this death is fairly close but William Jones has to be one of the hardest names to get the right person  :(

Cardiff district

Dec 1902 age 53

Another thing to try is if any of the children married between 1901-1911 they may have put father deceased on the certificate.

Local directories can be very helpful, if you have access to them.

You have my deepest sympathy, having a William Jones to research! ;D

Eliza is widowed by 1911 and living with her married daughter Florence Grace Reynolds if I have the right family  :)

It might take a while to find it with that name, but there may be a newspaper announcement:
