Gwilliam (Gullum) family of Pitt Town, Ebeneezer, Windsor NSW
« on: Saturday 10 March 18 05:00 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
I am researching the family of my GGG Uncle John Gwilliam (Gullum) who came to Australia in 1833 as a convict, and settled at Pitt Town, sentenced to death for horse stealing and commuted to 14 years.
John Gwilliam married Alicia Bane in 1838, and they had several children, including another son John Gwilliam (Gullum).
It is believed that either John Gwilliam Senior or maybe Junior was the Licensee of the Plough Inn at Windsor on the 18th April, 1854.   John Senior died in 1869 and his occupation was shown as Farmer at the time of his death.
Wondering if anyone could assist me with more information on the Plough Inn, how long he held the license for, and in particular would be great to know if the Inn still exists to this day.

It seems there is much history on the Gullum family at Pitt Town, still getting more information each day.
Regards
Jan

Thanks JM.  I will try to make contact with the Hawkesbury Distrist History Group
Yes, found his licence, but don't know how long he would have held same.

From the index you can follow Robinson as licensee to about 1845.... have you obtained the info about The Plough Inn found on the various reels or are you relying on the index summary info?
